Classic Black and Ivory Fashion Scarf with cut fringe #2 by Connie Dirks

Fashion Scarf, Classic black and ivory with cut fringe - EASY to Make!

A classic black and ivory color combo makes this fringe scarf swing in fashion from dressy to jeans. The fringe is shorter in drop than in  Scarf #1 by Connie Dirks.  It is an easy to-care-for-style scarf.  For photographing a knot was tied to shorten the scarf up to fit into the photo. The scarf is 10" wide embellished with 2 1/2" fringe created on My Own Fringemaker.

Connie created this scarf by folding the long width in half, sewing one long side seam (the other long length was a fold). She folded up the short scarf ends as you would if you were just sewing it closed; BUT before she sewed the ends closed she inserted the (sewn) fringe header. Next she sewed closed the scarf ends anchoring fringe header in the seam.  Using this method to sew on the fringe hides the header in the seams.  She made a 2 1/2" drop fringe; isn't this trim the perfect compliment to this scarf. The fringe sets off this classic scarf.

Thanks so much Connie for submitting another fringe scarf sample too. Before visiting Connie's Website, check out her other three scarves in our Gallery, Scarf #1,  #3, and Fringe Leopard Scarf  #4.

Fringe Scarf is a Perfect Fashion Accessory #3 by Connie Dirks

Make the scarf, add the fringe. Classic Fashion accessory!

This fringe trim scarf is definitely of the dressy persuasion! It has the look of burnt out velvet, the fabric is silky see through with textured design.
For photo purposes, I knotted the scarf in the middle to show case the fringe created by Connie using My Own Fringemaker. Connie added fringe trim to both ends of the scarf.

Using a combination of yarn and ribbons, Connie created custom fringe to enhance the scarf.  She made 1 1/2" drop fringe and isn't it the perfect compliment to this fabric.  This fashion scarf is for sale, however it made by sold by now, but you could make your own version!

Connie also submitted Scarf #1, Scarf #2 and Scarf #4, please take a look at her other scarves too.  Thank you Connie for sharing your  designer scarves for all to see. Fringe Scarf Leopard Print, Looped Fringe # 4 by Connie Dirks

Fringe Scarf Leopard Print, easy to make, add custom fringe!

A slinky fringe scarf sports the classic leopard look. This scarf could be worn for dressy occasions or with jeans. Connie created custom fringe and left it looped on the ends. The fringe drop is 2".  The fringe was made from embroidery floss, a thicker thread plus a light weight strand.
After she sewed the header, Connie slipped her fringe off the rods and inserted the header into the scarf ends then sewed the ends closed.
The header is hidden inside the seam.  This designer scarf is for sale, you'll need to check with Connie to see if it is still available.

Cut Fringe Christmas Stocking Embellished #2

Cut Fringe Christmas Stocking Embellished #2

Embellishing an inexpensive {store bought} stocking upgrades the look and style for pennies. Choose your color stocking - and use what you have in your stash to make fringe. When the stockings cost next to nothing - a dollar or less- and you use left over yarns and ribbons to create your fringe trim, you can make unconventional holiday fringe and not give it care in the world. The red stocking boasts 4" loose hanging cut fringe made from yarn and ribbon. The green stocking is decorated with looped fringe. There was too much fringe made for the green stocking so it is sewn across the front and made into a circular medallion in the back of the stocking.   You CAN do this - give it a try - make fringe in three easy steps!

Extra Long Cut Fringe Christmas Stocking #2

Extra Long Cut Fringe Christmas Stocking #2

This purchased stocking was fairly ordinary, but adorned with long fringe is now pretty cute. Using unusual yarn and ribbons makes this funky fringe trim. This cut fringe is long and hangs loose... you gotta love it!

How to make  fringe: you'll need my own fringe maker, scissors, fabric glue, threaded straight stitch sewing machine, yarns and ribbons of your choice, gimp to place at top of fringe header, I like to hide the stitching.

Set up the fringe maker, Place the rods in the furthest holes. Tie yarn ends onto one rod wind on to the length you need for your stocking. Once you have enough fringe, cut the yarn end and tie  a knot on the rod.  Take whole rod unit to sewing machine and slide one rod under the presser foot so the presser foot edge rides against the rod, parallel.  Most of the rod unit will be resting on the sewing machine bed if you are following the directions. Straight stitch the length of the fringe yarn, repeat multiple times sewing parallel to the rod. NOTE: I reduce my stitch length each time a sew a pass. Once you've sewn multiple times, you've created your header. Raise the presser foot, remove whole rod unit from under the presser foot and take to flat working surface.

To create the extra long fringe. You will need to cut just one side of the fringe just below the stitch line. One side will fall creating the long loose hanging fringe. This needs your attention so take it slow - and double check both sides of the fringe to make sure you are NOT cutting through both sides of the fringe -just one layer -one side.

The  fringe header stitching is covered with two rows of green gimp as an optional way to hide the stitching, you could use beads, or chain or more of the same yarn the fringe was created from..  This is an extra easy fringe trim holiday project, give it a try!

DYI , T-Shirt Fringe Dress Sewn by Janeen D. of Texas

DYI , T-Shirt Fringe Dress Sewn by Janeen D. of Texas

This is an amazing fast and fabulous T-Shirt Dress trimmed with fringe trim!

Janeen purchased My Own Fringemaker on Thursday at Houston Festival. Friday morning she returned to show us the perfect fringe T-Shirt dress. After all the ooooo's and ahhhhh's from admirers -Janeen bought our last fringemaker for her Mother who also had to have My Own Fringemaker.

How to make fringe:  Measure the chest of person wearing the T-shirt dress so you know how much fringe to make.
Supplies needed: My Own Fringemaker, threaded, straight stitch sewing machine, scissors, yarn of choice, t-shirt and fabric of choice.
Set up fringe maker. Wind on yarns to width you need.

First place rods about three inches apart in the rotator rods.
Knot the end of the yarn around one rod and wind on as much length as you need for your fringe trim.

Remove rod unit from base and take whole rod unit to sewing machine.
Slip one rod under the presser foot. Center presser foot between both rods; straight stitch down the center between rods several times, creating your fringe header.

Remove the whole rod unit from under the presser foot and take back to work table.
Cut the yarn from both rods, this makes cut fringe.

Sew the T-shirt and fabric together to make your dress.
Attach cut fringe by sewing (or use fabric glue)  by matching the header stitching to the t-shirt and dress seam.
Sew (or glue) the fringe on top of seam between shirt and skirt. DONE!  Just that easy - make a couple and email us photos for the Gallery!

Janeen allowed us to display her T-Shirt dress all day Friday in the booth. She wanted to show people how easy it was to make fringe in minutes. Janeen told us she was so inspired to make fringe, on her way home, she stopped at JoAnn's Fabric Store, bought yarn and went home to make this T-shirt fringe dress for her darling daughter. Janeen also added a peacock design to the front of the T-Shirt.

A giant thank you goes out to her daughter for sharing her brand new dress with everyone BEFORE she could even wear it. Isn't she one lucky little girl to have both a Mom and GrandMom sewing and creating fringe for her.  I think though, they'll have to move over and share My Own Fringe maker with her too.  Wow - can you imagine the fun these three ladies are having?  fringe on ~~

Beach Bag; Styling Tote all Fringed Out ~

You CAN easily trim a bag like this!

Fringe takes this ordinary beach bag to a new height. The bag is made of nylon screening material. I like bags with visibility - saves hunting/search time in the bag.  Loose fringe was made and the header glued to the outside top rim of the bag.  Looks like we're packed and ready for a nice time at the shore. You too can do this, easy, easy!

To Make this project:

Gather: Straight stitch sewing machine, coordinating thread colors to project, glue, popsicle stick or q-tip, scissors, several yards of yarn and/or ribbon, ruler and of course My Own Fringemaker.

Measure the distance around the tote top.  Set up My Own Fringemaker.  Place rods in the third and fifth holes of the rotator arms.
Wind on the yarns to the length needed for the tote circumference.  Remove rod unit from fringemaker base and take rod unit to sewing machine.  Place one rod under the presser foot and center presser foot between the two rods.
Straight stitch several times  (maybe 5 or 6 times) down the center of the rods to create a secure header.

Remove rod unit from under the presser foot and take whole unit to your work table.

To make loose fringe, cut the yarn from each rod and both ends will be loose.

Dab glue onto header stitching and also around the top of the tote.  Sometimes I use a q-tip or popsicle stick to dab glue onto projects.

Once glue is slightly tacky begin placing fringe onto the tote, glued fringe side to glue on tote. Hold in place with spring style clothes pins until glue is dry.  Remove clothes pins and pack tote for a trip to the beach!   maybe I should bite the bullet and order those. ..hate to spend the money when there aren't any orders.  Adorable gifts - bags just to go to Grandma's house,  sleepovers, school etc.

Fringe Headband Accessories

Fringe easily created on My Own Fringemaker

Headbands are popular today. Wouldn't making fringe trim head bands be a fun sleep over project, a Brownie troop or school fundraiser?
Purchase headbands three or four in package for $1.00 - furnish yarn and ribbons in team colors, sorority or  club colors and have a great time.  This is a great idea for fund raising, # 101!

Imagine the ladies in the choir sporting matching head bands for the holidays? This would be different and too cute, they'd look like angels watching over the congregation!  Do this project and take a photo for the Gallery.

To make headband fringe:

Set up My Own Fringemaker, place rods three inches apart. Wind on a little more yarn and/or ribbons than the length needed to cover the headband.   Remove rod unit and take to sewing machine.  Place one rod under the presser foot and stitch down the center between the rods several times. Take whole rod unit back to your work table. Lay the rod unit flat and cut the fringe off both rods.

There are several ways to attach the fringe to the head bands or butterfly berets. One way is to glue 3/8" wide ribbon onto the headband or barrette. Glue the fringe you made onto the ribbon and allow to dry. Another way to attach the ribbon is to weave it though the open bars of the head band. Now glue fringe on to the ribbon. Attach however it is easiest for you, when done you'll be glad you tried it.

Fabulous fringe crazy patch embroidered stocking #4 by Lynn Rhinehart

You too can make this beautiful crazy patch fringed stocking!

Lynn says, "I have made lots and lots of these decorative fringe stockings...so I've got the process down!
If you need help through the process, on how to make fringe or the stocking, I've given  Debi permission to handout my email for further walk through directions or help.

The Christmas stocking pattern was a Vogue (7815) which is out of print unfortunately.

Embroidery designs were from the "Let it snow retro" design pack from Embroidery Library.  Lynn, says, "Sometimes I have to re-work the designs to fit in the area I am embroidering.  Of course I've changed the thread colors to work with the fabrics I choose for my stocking.
I used mostly Robison Anton rayon; some metallic threads were from either Robison Anton or Superior - I was just working for the color..."

"To make the fringe trim, I wound on all at once using rayon rattail cord and metallic and skinny satin ribbons to get all the colors in there I was looking for and to make it very thick....the beads were on a string beads purchased from JoAnn's. I doubled the strand and twisted them and sewed them on by hand." This makes ornamental bead fringe in the header.

Lynn says, "I don't remember what I used for the lining, but undoubtedly a Christmas design I had in my stash that worked with the colors....
Your stocking didn't have a cuff, so the base of the front of the stocking is just muslin and then crazy quilted with the colors I chose, then I
quilted down the seams with fancy stitches and then embroidered the designs I chose.  I assembled the stocking and then sewed the fringe to the top edge to attach it."

"The decorative fringe embroidered stocking is yours to keep Debi.....I made it for you especially to show how cool my own fringemaker can be....  use the fringe trim stocking however you'd like....
I have made lots and lots of these cut fringe stockings...so I've got the process down."

Notes from Debi:

I showcased this decorative stocking at a local show. The ladies couldn't stop running their fingers through this ultra thick loose fringe.

Lynn, it is the thickest fringe I've ever seen and felt!  Wow - Lynn you have set a record making fabulous fringe.
Your beautiful fringe is amazingly thick and luscious AND made on My Own Fringemaker ,Go Lynn Go!

The ladies loved your decorative crazy patch embroidered stocking. This fringe stocking was the show stopper, the sample everyone was drawn to for the colors and thick fringe.  The cut fringe was made with various ribbons and yarns.
When you make fringe using My Own Fringemaker load it up and you too can make thick and wonderful fringe.

Thank you Lynn for this beautiful decorative stocking it is precious, unique and very eye catching, I'll treasure it always!
It is one fringe sample which will be showcased in all my shows! THANK YOU, Thank you !

Fringe Scarf made New Years Eve for Michele, using Cocoon Yarn

Scarf easily created with My Own Fringemaker

Michele and John stopped in for a visit and to discuss details of their Chris Craft  boat restoration. More on the boat restoration later in the description.   Michele professes to be non crafty and doesn't sew - but look at the scarf she created!  I'd say this is definitely a snazzy fringe New Years Scarf!

We used Cocoon Multi by Rozetti I paid $9.50 for a 44 yard skein - pricey but unusual.  We played with the rod width several times to get the look we wanted and Michele wound on approximately 23", since she doesn't sew, I did the sewing.

We added a soft stabilizer extending down 1/2"  below the top rod where I would be sewing the header. We thought the skinny strands in between slubs would hold better during the sewing if there was some backing. Also the skinny connecting strands might get snagged by the feed dogs; hence the stabilizer.

Take the rod unit to the sewing machine. Place one rod under the presser foot and center the presser foot between the two rods. Straight stitch down the center, between the rods and sew several passes.  While I was sewing Michele was winding a second section approximately 15" long that we attached onto one end of the scarf to get the length we wanted. The second length of 15" was completed like the first section described above.

After stitching, now back at the table, we wanted to stabilize the scarf because of the skinny strand between slubby weiners. It will be easier to manage the fringe trim while it is still on the rods.

To stabilize the scarf we stitched a 3/8" matching blue ribbon sewn on top of the header stitching and did this to both pieces before removing the fringe from the rods.

Next back at the table, we created cut fringe by cutting the yarn off both rods resulting in loose hanging fringe.

We  sewed the two scarf end pieces together with slight overlap and we were done!

Michele  . . .had a funky fashion fringe scarf in about forty five minutes for New Years Day - Look how the fringe scarf matches her jacket colors perfectly! This was an unexpected surprise for we gave no thought to her jacket, we just wanted to play with this particular yarn.

Thanks Michele for a fun time!  By the way, as Michele was winding on the yarn it formed a DNA pattern - we'll have to make a DNA scarf too and give Michele the credit for the name.

IDEA: Wouldn't it be a clever DNA fringe scarf for a science major, or a nurse?  Make a fringe scarf for yourself and one to give away.

We're guessing the cocoon part of the name of this yarn comes from the slubs - they are the approximate size of cocktail wieners strung two inches apart end to end with skinny strand in between the slubs.

Why not make this easy fringe scarf and fringe glove set as a gift and one for yourself ? One yard of polar fleece would yield several scarves. Buy fleece on sale and the cost per scarf drops to less than a dollar.
How to make scarf fringe:
Decide on the width of the scarf you want. Choose a variegated twisted yarn to replicate this look.
Assemble the fringe maker and place the rods were in the furthest holes.  Tie yarn ends and wind yarn onto rods.

Remove the rod unit from the base and take whole unit to straight stitch sewing machine. Slide one rod under the presser foot and straight stitch parallel to one rod.  Repeat the stitching process several time sewing a fringe header. To make long fringe cut one layer just under the header stitching. One side of the fringe will drop making long fringe. one side of the folded yarn drops to double the length to achieve this long fringe look.  Buy gloves, sold everywhere for a dollar in cold weather months, and make some matching decorative fringe for the cuff.

Fringe Polar Fleece Scarf and Gloves fringed for fashion understatement

Easily create fringe using My Own Fringemaker!

This polar fleece scarf fringe was made just like the bright scarf pictured below this entry in our Gallery.

How to make scarf fringe:

Decide on the width  and length of your cut fringe scarf. Cut polar fleece fabric ends up approximately 10" long 1/3" apart which makes fleece strands.

Assemble My Own Fringemaker rod unit and wind on yarns of your choice. The amount of yarn needed will depend on the drop length of decorative fringe you want to make.  To make our sample scarf fringe length plus fringe trim the glove cuffs you will need approximately 4  yards and slightly less if you mix in and use multiple strands of different yarns and ribbons for bulk.

Once you have enough product wound onto the rods for your fringe.

Remove the rod unit from the unit base and take the rod unit to the sewing machine for sewing the header.

Place one rod unit under the presser foot and align the presser foot next to rod and straight stitch multiple items, this creates the header.   Reduce the stitch length with each pass to help the needle catch the yarns. After sewing several passes,
remove whole rod unit from under sewing foot and take to flat surface.

Lay the rod unit on the table, carefully place one scissor blade in the middle opening of both sides of the fringe and the other blade on the outside of the outer wrapped edge.

Run the open blades up to the sewn header, you will be cutting away one half side of the fringe just below the sewn header. The falling fringe will make long fringe.  Before I cut with scissors, I always check the outside of the sewn fringe header to see if any part of the blade shows. It the blade shows and you cut, you will accidently cut through all the fringe creating a gap. If you can see your blades back out the blade before cutting and reinsert the blade again. Check again and if you do not see the blade on the 'front side' then cut, you'll be creating cut fringe.

Remove one rotator arm and slide off fringe header (now long fringe) from the rod unit.

Attach fringe trim to scarf:
Place header stitching on top the scarf. Stitch over the header stitching, this will attach fringe to scarf.

Buy some $1.00 gloves and attach fringe to glove cuffs for a complete ensemble.  Attach decorative fringe onto the glove cuffs with glue or sew fringe on by hand, try zig zagging over the cuff with the sewing machine -but keep the cuff stretched a bit so it will slip over your knuckles.

What a fshionable cozy and warm fringe scarf set. Very easy to make - try it! - Make a bunch of them to use and to give away!

One customer told me she gave 12 sets like these as gifts instead of buying twelve scarf glove gifts. She spent about $25. for the whole twelve gifts, verses the cost of twelve expensive scarf sets from the department store - My Own Fringemaker is a BUDGET SAVER Extraordinaire !

Fringe Jacket , Belaro Leopard Print updated with Fringe - Recycling

Make custom fringe using My Own Fringemaker!

Animals prints remain a fashion basic. Sometimes a garment needs a little embellishing to make a fresh fashion statement.
Using a combination of three yarns - black with sparkle, black plus brown, I wound all three yarns on to the rods at the same time to make fringe trim.

You'll need to measure around the cuffs to know much decorative fringe to make. The sleeve cuffs requires 20" ,enough for both fringe trims on the cuffs.

To make fringe, set up the fringe maker and place rods in rod unit approximately 3" apart and tie the ends and wind on.
Remove the rod unit and take to the sewing machine.

Slide one rod unit under the presser foot. Move rod unit so presser foot is centered between the rods.
Straight stitch down the center  [between the rods] several times to create a header.
Remove the rod unit from under the presser foot and carry whole rod unit to your table.

I wanted loose ended, cut fringe verses looped fringe, so I cut the fringe off the rods.

Next step, sew or glue the decorative cut fringe onto cuffs. The fringe makes the bolero slightly more sporty and easily extends it's usefulness  for another season!   Here is a great example of reuse, revamp and recycle... very easy on the budget compared to purchasing a new fringe jacket.  It's very easy to make fringe trims, you can do this and you'll have all the bragging rights to go with it!

Fringe Holiday Purse Created from placemat

Adding fringe to your placemat purse is fun and easy with My Own Fringemaker!

Don't you love to carry a kicky Lil' purse to holiday events? Have you priced the kicky Lil purses at the store?
Well my goodness, no need to spend the eqilivent of a week's worth of groceries just to have zip in your holiday accessories.
Now you can make a purse for every outfit and every occasion and never break the bank, isn't this perfect! NO Dorothy this isn't Kansas, it's reality.

Carry your purses with all the confidences there are, knowing you look fashionable, created it yourself and did it for pennies! Does it get better than this . . . I think NOT.

Start with a placemat plaid on one side and reverse side is solid red screamming to be made into a fringe clutch. All seams are glued, including the zipper across the inside flap. I like a zipper in this style fringe purse to keep the stuff from spilling out for everyone to see.

I folded the placemat in 2/3 for the body. The remaining 1/3 is for a fold over fringe trim top flap. To make this cut fringe choose various mitten yarns and colored strands of your thicker threads. I actually had so much fun winding on that I made too much fringe and attached it around both the front and inside of the top flap.

To Make this fringe ~

  • Set up the fringe maker and place the rods approximately 3" apart.
  • I sewed down the middle several times.
  • To create cut fringe cut yarns from rods with scissors after sewing.
  • I glued the fringe onto the purse. Other than sewing the fringe header, this purse is glued together!

So that no fringe goes unappreciated, I sewed the fringe across the front and across the inside front flap too. Why not - it's one of a kind. The green button is actually an oversized pin and can be removed and relocated to another purse. Wouldn't it look great on a St. Patty's Green fringe purse?

Take note of the mirror on inside top flap too. It is a plastic reflective sheet available from JoAnn and Hobby Lobby in the purse making section. It too is glued in place - the mirror is a nice upgrade.  It's very nice to look into a mirror, check out your DO before making an enterance.  I cut a rectangular section from the reflective sheet and have more left over to insert into another fringe purse.  Give it a try, make purses to use, and some for gifts and then sell some - everyone loves this fringe purse, it's a cutie!

Fringe Collar - decorative collar is removable ! Create one yourself!

Removable fringe collars, extend your wardrobe!

Are you always looking for the best way to update your wardrobe without over spending? Everyone loves a bargain - and when you create it for pennies you are far ahead of budget restraints!

A simple plain knit sweater gets an upgrade by adding a fringe collar. Fringe trims can update wardrobe basics in a heart beat!

Measure around the neckline to determine how many inches of trim fringe you'll need to make.
Choose yarns and ribbons in colors and textures to make your fringe accent your item. The yarn used for this fringe collar is mini ladder yarn.

How to make fringe like this:
Supplies you'll need:
My Own Fringemaker, threaded straight stitch sewing machine, safety pins for attaching the collar (or use our snap tape), tape measure, scissors.

  • Set up the fringe maker.  Place rods 4" apart.
  • Tie the ends of your yarns on to a rod and start winding onto the rods.
  • DO NOT HOLD THE YARNS as you wind - this creates too much tension, instead gently guide the yarns down the rods as you wind on the yarns.
  • Use our ruler to watch how much you are winding on.Once you have enough fringe for collar, cut the yarns ends, and knot onto rod.
  • Remove rod unit from base and take to sewing machine.  Slide one rod under the presser foot and position rod unit so the presser foot will be centered between the two rods.
  • SLOW the sewing machine speed down if you can.  Lengthen the stitch to 5.
  • Lower presser foot and start straight stitching down the center between the rods.  Now You are creating fringe!

Repeat the stitching process several times. With each pass shorten the stitch length, this will help the needle catch the fringe fibers missed on previous stitching passes.

Once you have stitched the fringe header several times. Lift presser foot and remove the whole rod unit from under the presser foot,
now take  the whole rod unit to your work surface.

Next remove one rotator arm and slide your fringe off the rods, resulting in a decorative fringe, known as looped fringe.
Pin the collar on to your garment or make a real necklace attaching a fastener  = DONE. Now smile big!

Make a second decorative fringe collar in other colors or with different yarns and ribbons and you'll have a completely different look!

Making fringe is a huge budget saver - use what you have to make fringe trim.  Make several fringe collars to coordinate with more garments in your wardrobe this will extend your wardrobe in a huge way for pennies.

Let the fashion show begin, Put the collar on, show it off, wow your friends, remove your fringe and reattach a different fringe collar to create another look, hit the run way again! They'll be begging you to create collars for them too!

One basic sweater with unlimited versatility simply by inter-changing the collar, is a fabulous budget saver, don't you agree ?

Beaded Tassel Ornament Christmas Craft Update by Lillian B.

It's easy to make tassels , when using My Own Fringemaker

Remember the hand crafted Christmas ornaments of yester-year? Stores are selling replica ornaments - and the prices - whew!
Join the ranks of others who make their own fringe and tassels because they can do it for pennies!

Lillian B. of Camden,TN presented this ornament  to us from her tassel collection.

The tassel ornament starts with a Styrofoam ball, sequins and straight pins.

She said the original tassel fringe was a bit tattered, raveled and looked tired. She made this tassel fringe and replaced the original tassel with her new one.  Doesn't the new one look great!

To make tassel fringe, Lillian assembled My Own Fringemaker. Placed the rods four inches apart. Next she wound on approximately seven yards of fringe STRAND.  Keep rod unit assembled on the base and proceed.

She cut approximately 15" of STRAND and pulled it through the center between the front and back of STRAND while still on the rods. This single strand will be the hanger piece from which it hangs.  Pull it gently above the rod, to the top of the rod and tie a knot several times to fasten the hanger strand.  Above the knot trim any left over STRAND that is too long, Keep the knot small so you can hide it by tucking it into the STRAND. To hide the knot use a pin head or crochet hook grab the knot and pull it gently through making sure not to grab other fringe strands. Then with approximately 20" of the same STRAND she wound around and around just below the rod to make the tassel fringe header.

Next remove the whole rod unit from My Own Fringemaker base. Remove one rotator arm and slide off the tassel fringe. She removed the tassel fringe from the rod unit and cut the bottom loops to create cut fringe, now the tassel fringe skirt hangs loose.

Thank you Lillian for your generous and thoughtful gift. I'll bet other people will be updating their yester-year ornaments too. Your ornament will look adorable on my tree every year! Thanks again!.
