Halloween decoration is kicked up a notch by creating custom fringe and attaching it to a purchased pillow.
#1 The top photo is the audition process - place several yarns and ribbons on or near the pillow and choose which combination to use.
# 2 Viewing the yarns after winding on and deciding if it is a good combination or not.
# 3 The finished pillow. The ribbons were so transparent the fringe shimmered, wish the photo was better.
The pillow was donated to the local United Way Radio Auction and bidding was crazy. Several tweens saw it on Facebook and a bidding war started; after all - where would they ever find a crazy Halloween Wicked Wild pillow fringed like this?
I understand that the Lil'' gal who won it keeps it on display in her bedroom year round because it's so Wicked cool.

Do not remove the rod unit from base. You will work with rod unit on the base.
Using the two blue rubber bands, place one on the crank handle and one on the rotating rod at the other end - this will keep the rod unit from rotating like it did while winding on your first strip.
Using your supplies, choose something and weave horizontally from end to end of the rod unit.
Continue adding more strips, weaving until you have filled the rod unit creating the desired look you want.
** Leave your woven cloth on the rod unit and
Remove the rod unit from the fringemaker base.
Take rod unit to ironing board, place right side down.
Iron on adhesive backing to stabilize the panel.
Take rod unit ( cloth still on the rods) to sewing machine, straight stitch the strips to secure.
For fun stitch using your machine's built in decorative stitches.
After stitching the panel to secure strips in place, remove from the rods and set aside.
Repeat the steps above to create as many panels as you need to make your doll quilt.
Sew two panels together along the long edge. Sew the next panel onto the lower long edge creating length.
Continue sewing the panels together until you have created the quilt length you need.
